Whether you're planning a family get-together, couple's getaway, or high-powered meeting, visitors will be enthralled by this destination's offering! As part of Florida's "Gold" coast, Palm Beach County is situated 50 miles north of Fort Lauderdale and 150 miles south of Orlando.

Attracting some of the world's most elite travelers, the area is popular with visitors for providing a first-class service and unparalleled hospitality. And as the largest county southeast of the Mississippi, Palm Beach comes alive with activity year round. This stylish paradise boasts an array of luxury resorts, a culinary landscape that is home to celebrated chefs, a dynamic mix of attractions, more than 400 cultural venues, and miles of pristine beaches.
Distinctive attractions like Lion Country Safari and Moroso Motorsports Park are the perfect compliment to Palm Beach's arts-focused culture. From the Norton Museum of Art and Boca Raton Museum of Art, to the outstanding Ballet Florida productions, the acclaimed Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, entrancing theater performances, and an impressive roster of music organizations, Palm Beach County's entertainment scope is unparallel.
Surprising to many visitors is the diversity that Palm Beach offers. With 47 miles of coastline, and the second largest freshwater lake in the country, this destination offers a plentitude of aquatic activity. Visitors can enjoy daylong deep-sea fishing, pleasure boating on the ocean, snorkeling, and parasailing. Lake Okeechobee, has calm waters and marsh flats, best experienced by boat, canoe, or kayak.

Great weather, open green markets, festivals, and trendy districts entice shoppers in search of treasures.
For those with no budget, Worth Avenue in Palm Beach is deemed the "Rodeo Drive of the East Coast." Celebrities, multi-millionaires, and visitors alike rub elbows along one of the Avenue's many upscale dining locales, or luxury boutiques. Historical walking tours of Worth Avenue are held on the second Wednesday of each month.
Boasting more than 160 golf courses countywide, which is the largest number in the state, it's no surprise Palm Beach County is "Florida's Golf Capital". Whether it's making a birdie on a par-4 hole overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, or playing for the first time ever on a public golf course, golfers are sure to enjoy tee time no matter where they choose to play.

Don't be mistaken... Palm Beach is much more than golf! Deemed the winter equestrian capital of the world, home to a number of prestigious polo fields, and athletic stadiums sprinkled throughout the county, this destination is world-famous for its sport offerings. If you're a baseball aficionado, Jupiter's $28 million Roger Dean Stadium is proud to host the Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals during spring training.

Once regarded as a Spring Break hotspot, Greater Fort Lauderdale has grown into its latest and most deserving designation as the "Venice of America" and "Yachting Capitol of the World."
One of the easiest ways to explore Greater Fort Lauderdale is via the Water Taxi service. In addition to getting you where you want to go, every trip includes an entertaining narrative from the Water Taxi captains, touching on everything from local legends to celebrity dish. It also provides an opportunity to see some of the most magnificent waterfront mansions and mega yachts in South Florida.

Bargain hunting! Travelers who like to "see and be seen" need to make their way to Las Olas Boulevard. Highlighted with classy thrift shops and designer fashions, this shopping scene has become one of South Florida's trendiest shopping districts.
To experience the area's most unique shopping experience, the new Seminole Paradise at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino offers a selection that ranges from jewelry to the hippest clothing featuring Cache, Havana Shirt Store, and Ritchie Swimwear.
Serious shoppers head to Sawgrass Mills, the world's largest discount and entertainment mall, with more than 350 brand-name and designer outlets, discount stores, specialty shops, and restaurants.
For those wanting to stretch their shopping dollar, Fort Lauderdale is home to the South's largest Flea Market, the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop. The 2,000 vendors are open seven-days-a-week and the market even provides a giant carousel and live daily entertainment.

There's no better place to get your feet wet! Greater Fort Lauderdale proudly boasts its designation as a "Blue Wave Beach"! Since 1999, the non-profit, Washington-based Clean Beaches Council has been rewarding communities for responsible beach management. In each of those years, Greater Fort Lauderdale has earned this distinguished honor. The certification includes Hollywood, Dania Beach, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Pompano Beach, among the cleanest, safest, and most user-friendly beaches in the world.
You're only skimming the surface if you don't explore this destination's underwater attributes.
Scuba Diving's readers, and other divers from around the world, have acknowledged that Fort Lauderdale's spectacular three-tiered natural reef system, with quick access from the destination's numerous beaches, are difficult to match. In recent years, artificial reefs have been developed by sinking everything from a 435-foot freighter 200 feet beneath the surface to a 94-foot DC-4 airplane to create a diver's delight for exploration and an abundance of fish for anglers.
