RE/MAX of the Islands
Family-owned and operated full service real estate firm.

Always be resourceful and deliver more than people expect - advice once given to Art Corace, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX of the Islands, Sanibel & Captiva Islands, and credence he has followed throughout his 33 year career.

When Art Corace initially came to Florida from his native home of Pennsylvania, he underwent the many trials and tribulations of relocation. "I looked up and down the both coasts of Florida. I settled on Sanibel Island in 1975 because the newly formed City of Sanibel was in the process of adopting one of the most stringent land development codes in the United States. Having seen overdevelopment in other areas of Florida, the fact that the 'city fathers' were going to protect the environment and regulate development here was appealing to me. Today Sanibel has strong laws in place for that purpose. Consequently our real estate ownership and vacation rental markets are in very good shape compared to other overdeveloped areas of Florida. The biggest benefit is to those that live or vacation here. We enjoy an outstanding quality of life not found in most areas of the world," explained Corace.

When FT&L asked what Corace's prediction was for the future of Lee County's real estate, he chuckled and admitted there would be many regrets for those who didn't buy real estate in 2008. "Buyers who chose to wait during the early to mid-1980s and again in the early 1990's were regretting their decisions at the turn of the century. The same will happen for those considering a property now and not taking advantage of the current market conditions," Corace explained. "It's in the news and everywhere you look that now is the time to buy. Trust and believe it."
Providing real estate services, brokerage, and rental management services, Corace has built a successful team of hands-on professionals, which include his wife Sandi and son Dustyn. "We're the only family-owned and operated full service real estate firm on Sanibel and Captiva Islands," explained Corace. "Because we live and work in the area, it's important for us to perform each transaction with a personal touch. Our team communicates daily with their clients, and vacationing guests, to ensure them that we're here, should the need for our services arise".
