The Alachua County Historic Trust: Matheson Museum, Inc. is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of Alachua County, Florida. The Museum complex includes Gainesville's refurbished 1930's American Legion Hall, the 1867 Matheson House, and the Tyson Tool Barn that is filled with historic tools and farming equipment. Permanent and temporary exhibits offer a look at Alachua County and Gainesville history from the Timucuan Indians to the coming of the University of Florida and more. Come learn about our past!
