Summer is here and the Florida festival season is sizzling! Taste fresh seafood and gourmet dishes at local restaurant weeks, jam out to a jamboree or original music festival, and explore the worlds of cowboys and sea turtles. These events are hot, hot, hot!  

Taste of the Beach 
May 5 
Fort Myers Beach 

Every year, thousands of foodies gather on the scenic beaches of Fort Myers to savor different samples of seafood and other dishes from local vendors while enjoying live entertainment. Restaurants will offer up samples of their most popular dishes in the hopes of winning the Taste of the Beach Award honors in several categories, including Best Appetizer, Best Beef Dish, Best Seafood Dish, Best Chicken Dish, Best Dessert, Best Decorated Booth, and People's Choice. There is no better way to try all of Fort Myers’ best food all in one day. Competition never tasted so good! 


Orange Blossom Jamboree 
May 15-19 

If you love music of any kind, then you cannot miss the four-day long jam session that takes place in beautiful Brooksville at the northern end of the Tampa Bay area. During the jamboree, dozens of Florida bands, ranging from funk to country to hard rock, play together in an awesome musical mashup. You can join the jamboree for a day or for the whole festival long, thanks to its location on a sprawling campground where you can stay in your RV or tent. Delicious food offerings will also suit every taste, from BBQ to vegan dishes and more. 


Key Largo Original Music Festival  
May 16-19 
Key Largo  

Imagine listening to an elite collection of musicians all playing together in one of the most beautiful locations in the world - well then, you’d be picturing the Key Largo Original Music Festival! This four-day festival features country music artists from around the country, and will play out at a number of venues on the water. The 2019 fest showcases five intimate stages on the bay: Breezers at the Marriott Bay Beach Resort, Sundowners, Señor Frijoles, Cactus Jack’s with a Festival Finale, and Beach BBQ at the Caribbean Club. The best part? Attendance to the venues is FREE! It certainly gives Nashville a run for its money.


Melbourne Founders Festival 
May 24-26 

Enjoy a weekend of celebration on Florida’s Atlantic Coast at the Melbourne Founders Festival, which celebrates the culture, history, and artistry of the Melbourne community with live musical entertainment, local food favorites, merchandise vendors, artist displays, inflatable bounce houses, interactive robotic demonstrations, flight simulator and the ever popular Historical Wall. Admission to the festival is FREE! 


Sunset Music Festival  
May 25-26 

Celebrate Memorial Day weekend with crowds of fellow music lovers at one of the biggest concerts (and, subsequently, spontaneous dance parties) of the year in beautiful Tampa Bay! Thousands will flock tp the Raymond James Stadium to see top-rated and international artists perform their most-loved hits, ranging from pop rock to synth and country! So far, this year’s lineup will include popular artists like Flux Pavillion, Bonnie X Clyde, Rusko, and more with 20 new artists still to be announced. 


Orlando Carnival Downtown 
May 26 

Celebrate the fantastic Caribbean holiday Carnival in downtown Orlando, with this family-friendly festival packed with pageantry and parties that observe Caribbean culture. The traditional Carnival parade features costumed dancers and performers with the iconic tall, feathered crowns. In addition to the colorful parade, you can enjoy live music, arts & crafts vendors and more. 


Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon Fiesta Days Celebration 
May 29 

A tradition for almost 70 years, Fiesta Season runs through June and kicks off May 30th with entertainment, decorations and delicious food in the Historic Seville Quarter of Pensacola. The celebration pays homage to the city’s storied past of living under five flags from five countries, and local dignitaries including the mayor of Pensacola and Pensacola Naval Air Station Commanding Officer surrender the City of Pensacola and its citizens to DeLuna and his Queen for the Fiesta Season. 


Summer Sizzle SWFL Restaurant Week 
May 30-June 12 

Taste the best dishes of 70 of Southwest Florida’s restaurants during this sizzling restaurant week, which encourages visiting local restaurants year-round for fresh ingredients and great prices. During this event, restaurants from both Collier and Lee Counties will offer three-course prix-fixe dinner menus with special upgrades and deals starting at just $26 or $36. 64th Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival 
May 31-June1  
Fort Walton Beach 

Bring the whole family to this fun-filled pirate festival, tons of activities for kids as well as vendors selling pirate booty and local crafts. There will be great live music, and food vendors offering everything from tasty seafood dishes to refreshing ice cream. A $15 daily wristband allows a full day of unlimited access to a Rock Climbing Wall, Euro Bungee, and seven interactive inflatables, all sponsored by Kid's Discovery Zone. Dressing up in your best prate gear is encouraged! 


Turtle Treks 
June through September 
Fort Lauderdale  

This fantastic event is hosted by the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale, and aims to connect nature lovers with turtles on a whole new level. Join them on select evenings in June through September to discover and identify sea turtles while uncovering the natural history and the myths and truths of the life of a turtle. With weather permitting, you might see a 300 lb. loggerhead venture out from the waves to lay her eggs on the beach! Sarasota Music Festival 
June 2-23 

Join in the excitement of this three-week-long music festival in the artistic community of Sarasota, when hundreds of promising music students from all over the world will showcase their talents and even learn new skills. Festival audiences are invited to attend any concerts or lectures, including the Thursday afternoon Artist Showcase concerts, Friday Festival chamber concerts, and Saturday Symphony orchestra concerts. Who knows, you may see a performance by a future musical star! 


Davie Pro Rodeo 
June 21-22 

Located between Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, the city of Davie draws visitors from the coastline to the countryside at their fun and fabulous Davie Pro Rodeo shows. Western fans of all ages will enjoy real Western entertainment right here in Florida with hair-raising competitions like bull riding and roping, with toe-tappin’ music and great food vendors. Body Mind Spirit Expo  
June 22-23

July 6

Suncoast Offshore Powerboat Racing Festival 
June 29 - July 7 

One of the highlights of the summer is the thrilling annual Suncoast Offshore Powerboat Racing Festival, where million-dollar speedboats jet around just off the beach in Sarasota as they compete for first place (and bragging rights) during the Powerboat Grand Prix. You don’t need a ticket to watch the races - just bring a beach chair or blanket to sit on while you witness this can’t-miss event. In addition to the races, there are pre- and post-events happening throughout Sarasota, like powerboat displays, autograph signings, kickoff parties, and more.
